The City of Andalusia has several special Boards/Committees that serve to provide decisions for various needs in the City. These groups consist of local citizens and politicians who are very much interested in our community.

The Electricians Examining Board was created March 19, 1963. The board thoroughly and carefully examines all applicants for certification of capacity. One or more members of the Examining Board shall supervise such examinations, but no certificate shall be granted, nor denied, without the approval and sanction of a majority of the members of said Examining Board. Examinations may be given in writing or on practical work, or both, as may be deemed most advisable by said Board.

The Andalusia Public Library Board was created November 1, 1966. Its purpose is to serve as the governing body for the city’s public library. The Andalusia Public Library Board consists of five members who are appointed by the City Council of Andalusia. Each member serves a term of four years. They meet at 4:00 p.m. on the third Wednesday of odd months in the Charles Dixon Memorial Room of the Library, South Three Notch Street.
