A Message From Chief Paul Hudson
As Chief of Police, I welcome you to the Andalusia Police Department’s official webpage. This website offers you the opportunity of learning more about the hardworking men and women employed by APD. The officers and employees of APD go above and beyond to provide every member of our community and visitors with professionalism. At APD, we make every effort to be one of the most progressive departments in our area. You will gain insight into our mission statement and core values as you search our webpage. The men and women of the Andalusia Police Department believe in these core values and our mission and adhere to them at all times.
APD serves a population of approximately 9,000 residents. We employ 32 full-time sworn police officers and 11 civilian employees. On average, APD responds to 7500 calls for service each year. Calls for service involve sworn and civilian employees at the Andalusia Police Department. All sworn officers are APOSTC-certified police officers who maintain a minimum of 12 continuing education credit hours per year. In addition, all personnel attend monthly safety meetings.
At APD, we pride ourselves on our community involvement and the generous support we receive from our residents and business owners. We know and respect the diversity of our community. Our future goals begin with continuing to build a positive relationship between the community and the police department. Since December 2013, I have served as Chief of Police. It has been an honor and a pleasure to serve the citizens of Andalusia as your Chief of Police, and I look forward to many more years of service at APD. Andalusia is a wonderful community in which to raise your family or start a business. I hope you enjoy our webpage and come back often to see what is new and different.
